There’s always light at the end of the tunnel.

Amazing Details

Sculpture backstory

This wire tree sculpture is filled with strength and detail. We live in a world that is bursting with beautiful natural beauty all around us. For most of us we walk pass trees everyday without a second thought. But for me, a tree is just like a human being. Let me explain…

It goes through so many different seasons every year and yet still stands tall and strong. Just like us.

When I was at my lowest in my life, I use to go out for walks in Sheffield parks, and always get fascinated by the trees that have been there for hundreds of years. I can remember looking up at a very bold and tall tree and saying to myself wow this tree has been through hell and back, especially with our unpredictable English weather.

Funny enough that day was raining, sunny, hailing, thundering, and the cheek of it all there was a little rainbow as well- No joke, all at the same time. And yet this tree that I was standing next to didn’t care less about what was happening. It stayed strong.

You see, if a tree can be positive and it’s just a ‘tree’ how on earth as human beings with all the resources we have believe that there’s no light at the end of the tunnel.

Yes, things can turn unbearable sometimes and believe me I know, but we know that in the end things will only get better for us. And that’s why I decided to make a tree sculpture that can be seen as a reminder to keep staying strong.

Every design detail has a meaning behind it.

Stone base: this base symbolises the foundation of a person. Their strength and values that keep everything balanced.

Roots: the word roots is self-explanatory. To remain strong and to keep going one must know their true self.

Stem: this twisted and firm stem design symbolises the backbone that one must have to deal with fear and failure of life. To always aim onwards and upwards.

Branch design:  captures the movement of life and how hectic it can be. The branches flowing in different direction, the twisting and turning, but as busy as things seem and can get, all the individual branches are connected in the centre of the tree. Just like all the challenges that we as humans face and overcome from within. The centre symbolises the heart.

With its robust touch that captures the resilience of a person, and its striking presence that shows its unbreakable- this tree sculpture is a reminder for all of us to stay strong. And its all expressed in one piece.
